Kop Hill Climb 2017 – Cars, Bikes, Fun

The sun has arrived as we sit here amongst a host of vintage cars, bikes and some very odd vehicles including a road legal double bed! The BucksPGL Events team have had a fantastic weekend talking to many of the thousands of visitors who have come again this year to enjoy this great event.

The BucksPGL stand has been supported by a great array of rare cars and bikes through the decades from 1910 to the present day including, a beautiful E-Type Jaguar, Lancia Delta Integrale, Aston Martin Lagondas, and many more. On the two wheel side, there was an exhibit for each decade from an old Francis Barnet from the 1930's through to current Kawasaki.

There was also a group of special vans and campers from as far back as a Model T van, a 1960s VW Camper and a Bedford holiday home. Special thanks are due to the events team for their unstinting efforts putting this all together and providing the organisation, muscle and time to bring this event to life. A further thank you should be given to our Provincial Grand Secretary and his wife who gave up his birthday to come and cook an endless supply of hotdogs, burgers and bacon rolls to provide sustenance to all of the helpers and visitors. Also to the Buckinghamshire Classic Car Lodge and the Buckinghamshire Motorcycle Lodge for providing such an interesting collection of vehicles.

There have been so many interested parties talking to the masons manning the stand, we are sure that once more there will be a stream of new initiates looking to join Lodges in the Province over the coming months.

This is the last community event of 2017 but planning is starting now for 2018 and new members who would be interested in helping and attending the events next year are urged to get in touch. If you want an opportunity to make more friends and connections amongst a group of friendly, hard working Masons, please get in touch and lend a hand next year. Don't worry what rank or level you are at, be it an Entered Apprentice or a Grand Officer, you will be most welcome and your efforts will be greatly appreciated and faithfully applied.
