Charity Steward Workshops

“Being a Charity Steward was the best office anyone can hold in any Lodge” anon

There will be two Charity Steward Workshops in the Province this year for all current and would be Charity Stewards. There is also an open invitation for all brethren to attend who have an interest in what we as a fraternity achieve

Being a Charity Steward is not just about doing the raffle. Charity is one of the cornerstones of our order it is therefore vital for all brethren especially the Lodge Charity Steward to be aware of what can and is being achieved.

The objective of these workshops is:-

  • To assist in the launch of the New Charity Stewards’ handbook produced by Grand Lodge and review its content. The handbook focuses on the Role the Charity Steward carries out for the Lodge and these will be available on the night
  • To share best practices
  • To review the Four Main Charities and the role of the Provincial Charities the BMCF and the BMBF
  • To discuss the use of Relief Chests and especially gift aid.
  • To formulate an agreed plan for sharing information
  • To develop the skills required to carry out this role and to ensure that Charity is fun and enjoyable for everyone

In short it is “ Everything you wanted to know about being Charity Steward “
