A Team Member’s view on Freemasonry in Focus
The banner that hangs over the show stand reads ‘Freemasonry in your Community’ and, during all the shows of 2007, the feedback from each community has been extremely positive.
The ‘comment book’ is testament to the good work we are seen to be doing from non-Freemasons and Freemasons alike – however, one of the most interesting developments is how much the show stand has educated existing Masons!
As a relatively young Mason who does not remember Model-T Fords, The Beatles or the Vietnam war, the opportunity to help on the show stand has been an educational and learning experience as well as fun one.
It is only when speaking to non-Masons who challenge you with interesting questions that I have begun to understand more about the fraternity, its origins, rituals and the extent of it’s charitable work.
At every show the FIF team members are supported by Masons from local lodges and it is similarly a great opportunity to meet new people.
